Stan Kroenke maneuvering to purchase the Denver Broncos?

Just heard on 104.3 the Fan that Stan Kroenke may be the next owner of the Denver Broncos? Could Pat Bowlen be contemplating selling the team? The Broncos woudl instantly become the crown jewel of Kroenke Sports Enterprise.

More importantly, would Stan Kroenke ditch McDaniels?

First McDaniels drove off Jay Cutler. Next he drove of Bobby Turner, Rick Dennison, and Mike Nolan. Tony Scheffler, Peyton Hillis and Brandon Marshall are soon to follow. Could Pat Bowlen be next?

Very surprising and very interesting... more details as I find them.

  1. This was something I read early this morning under the RUMORS section of ProFootballTalk.com. Obviously, if Florio sees some sort of connection, he'll run with it and beat it into the ground.

  2. How exactly did Josh McDaniels run off Bobby Turner, Rick Dennison, or Mike Nolan?

Turner got promoted to be assistant head coach with his long-time friend and long-time coaching colleague, Mike Shanahan. Rick Dennison got a promotion to be offensive coordinator with Gary Kubiak who he is good friends with and with who he worked with in the past both as a coach and player.

Mike Nolan decided to leave on his own volition. The two had too similar of personalities to co-exist, plus Nolan rarely stays in one place for too long. Just look at all the coaching stops he has made in his career.

Your ire for McDaniels is baffling. The guy went 8-8 in his first season. Let's not forget that Mike Shanahan went 8-8 in his first season with Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway under center. You should sit back and view things from a long-term perspective instead of being so reactive, e.g., you calling for McDaniels' to be fired last offseason before even coached a game, then loving the guy following the 6-0 start, then asking for him to be fired again.

For all the bad decisions and poor judgments by Shanahan made following the Elway glory days, I think McDaniels deserves the opportunity to prove his worth over more than a year's time frame. After all, Shanahan got fourteen seasons in Denver to do so.

Furthermore, you say you want McDaniels fired? So what's your solution to the problem? I see few if any suggestions and only criticisms. That's no way to accomplish anything in professional sports or life.

  3. I COULD NOT AGREE MORE with RSH. I come to your website most of the time for pure laughs - which may not be the best thing considering it gives you clicks...but seriously...you are suggesting Pat Bowlen would sell the team because of Josh McDaniels?! You've lost it...

  4. Anonymous obviously cannot understand sarcasm in a post. But, I just read his comments for laughs anyway.
