Chiefs hire Charlie Weis as offensive coordinator

For those of you who are excited about Josh McDaniels establishing the Broncos as New England Patriots West, the REAL New England Patriots West is being established at our division rivals. The juggernaut (at least that's how they looked against Denver last week) Chiefs have hired Charlie Weis as their offensive coordinator and rumors are swirling that Romeo Crennel will be next as defensive coordinator.

So, if Josh McDaniels is failing at bringing the Patriots organization to Denver, what exactly is he doing for the Broncos?

To pre-empt some commenters, Weis may have been a lousy head coach at Notre Dame, but there is no doubt of his credentials as offensive coordinator and he is the person Josh McDaniels has to thank for paving a smooth road for JOsh to follow in New England.

After reading this post the Chiefs will self-destruct in five seconds.

The Chiefs have the Patsies old GM and of course hiring Weis was bound to happen. Even MLB Royals fans saw that coming a country mile away.

The point of McD bringing the NE system to Denver or 'lack there of' is well taken. I sure didn't see anything NE in what the Broncos were doing offensively. Sure the patsies throw a bubble screen BUT they don't live by them.

I think the wave of the future is going to be bringing in a receiver corp similar to the Chargers. McDaniels is all over that by running Marshall out of town. If McDaniels waists draft picks on 'speedy' 5'3" receivers by moving up to get them. I won't have to wait long for a chance at season tix on the cheap.
